Our Journey Since 2001
FACLOMSS EMEKUKU is a full boarding Catholic Mission school for boys only. The school was established by His Grace Archbishop A.J.V Obinna on the 6th of January 2001 with Rev. Fr. Erasmus Okere as the pioneer principal and Rev. Fr. Dr. Nicholas Nwachukwu as the second principal. The establishment of the school was in response to the humble demand by concerned parents who clamored for catholic training for their male children as the demand was necessitated by a failed state of the Nigerian educational system.
The school was named after a foremost missionary Rev. Fr. P.P. Cloonan, an Irish priest who spent 34 unbroken years of pastoral work in Emekuku and beyond. The main objective for establishing the school was to reintroduce discipline, ensure academic excellence as well as religious and moral training into our educational system so as to produce students who are sound in character, morals and academic standards.
The motto of the school is “OPTIMUM SEQUERE” (Go For The Best).
Father Cloonan Memorial Secondary School Emekuku being a full boarding school took off with an initial enrollment of eleven students and seven staffs but presently the school has grown to a student population of about five hundred and fifty students with convenient bed spaces and classrooms, forty academic staffs and twenty-five Non-academic staffs. The students are properly fed three times daily as their nutrition is being prioritized.
Since its inception, FACLOMSS Emekuku has maintained a high level of academic excellence and have competed favorably with most high ranking schools across the federation. This has been achieved with the consistent effort of the teachers and students, with resounding cooperation of their parents. The school has held on steadily to its good academic performance especially in WASSCE and NECO examinations as well as moral records with majority of its product doing wonderfully well in several works of life around the world.
In FACLOMSS, various societies and social clubs such as Divine Mercy Choir, Debate clubs etc exists and students are encouraged to join at least one religious society and one social club as this enables students to meet and exchange meaningful ideals so as to properly align them especially while interacting with their counterparts from other institutions.
The School have won several awards in academics, music and sports as the school promotes students participating in various sporting activities such as Football, Basketball, Lawn tennis, Table tennis and even brain teasing board games such as Chess and Scrabble.
